What do you consider your greatest accomplishment at this point in your life?

Taking a leap of faith in myself and going to vet school in the Caribbean! It was scary moving somewhere that I didn't know a soul, but it was the most amazing experience. I now have so many wonderful colleagues from all over the states and other countries!

What advice would you give to pet owners for maintaining their pets' health and well-being?

Prioritize preventative care (Vaccinations, heartworm & flea/tick prevention) and early disease detection. The earlier we catch an illness- the longer we can keep your pet alive!

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I'd start a ________ company.

Breakfast food truck! I would drive all over town making people's mornings! Who doesn't love breakfast food?!

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

"The night we met" by Lord Huron. Danced to this song at our wedding and sang it to both of my babies after they were born.

What's your favorite comfort food?

Does coffee count? It's the only reason I get out of bed in the morning! And I love Reese's peanut butter eggs during Easter!

If I were a superhero, my superpower would be _____.

Having X-Ray vision- That would make my job SO much easier.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone starting out in your field, what would it be?

Hang in there- you'll have good days and you'll have hard days. Lean into your team. Only they can truly understand the happiness and sadness that comes with veterinary medicine.

What are 3 things that people might be surprised to know about you?

  • I love scuba diving but am terrified of sharks! Thankfully, I've not (yet) encountered one while diving.
  • I did an externship in vet school in South Africa where I got to work with rhinos, antelope, and water buffalo.
  • In vet school I promised myself I would never marry another vet because I didn't want dinner conversations to be "vet talk" every night. Funny how things work out and I wouldn't change our vet dinner convos for the world!
